Hi, Ralph, I was thinking of a very small request: when you right-click a checkbox in a panel, you only see the value of the hit after sliding the mouse but then you only see the modified value. Isn´t it possible to display the value as soon as you right click the box, so you can fine tune velocities more efficiently? And it´s also helpful when I´m laying out an accent in a rhythm tab before converting to text file.
Ah, and why I hear semi-open hats in some fills even there are not hat events in the accent itself?
Thanks. |

We'll see what we can do...

Some fills have hats programmed in them. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I see, Ralph, but I checked the ones I was talking about and they had not. Also I made accent versions of these fills and they did not have the semi-open hats. |

Did you have the auto-foot hihat on? That box does affect fills and if you also have the 'semi-open hats in fills option' in the jam habit activated then you could get this behavior. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It was the 'semi-open hats in fills option', but I took some time to realize. Once it seemed to work, but then it didn´t apply for some bars which I had to reset to work again, so it was not easy like switching the option on and off. I can´t find an exact pattern for this functioning, cause sometimes I didn´t need to reset a bar and it worked just the same, I had to try many times.
I also thought the ´Jam Habits´ were only for Free Jam and Keyword Jam modes because of the description of the button - Control the jam habits of Jamstix (instant responses to MIDI play style). And I only use Manual Jam mode.
Thanks. |

Yes that it confusing. We'll have to change the description. Most habits affect Jamstix in all modes. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph, this fill, which is a test:
[General]
ID=10000000
Type=Fill
Resolution=96
[Events]
1=0,24,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
2=0,28,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
3=0,32,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
4=0,36,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
5=0,40,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
6=0,44,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
7=0,48,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
8=0,52,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
9=0,56,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
10=0,60,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
11=0,64,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
12=0,68,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
13=0,72,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
14=0,76,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
15=0,80,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
16=0,84,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
17=0,88,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
18=0,92,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
plays hats in ticks 24, 36, 48 and 72, but doesn´t play in 60 and 84 (they´re set to play eights). Why is that? |

In 96 resolution the 32nd events must be divisible by 3.
Example:
1=0,24,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
2=0,27,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
3=0,30,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
4=0,33,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
5=0,36,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
6=0,39,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
7=0,42,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
8=0,45,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
9=0,48,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
10=0,51,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
11=0,54,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
12=0,57,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
13=0,60,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
14=0,63,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
15=0,66,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
16=0,69,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2
17=0,72,0,2,0,100,3,2,-2
18=0,75,0,2,0,100,2,3,-2 _________________ Ralph Zeuner

So I can´t use 6 events per beat? What I want is 16th triplets. Besides the fill playes well, I just don´t get why it blocks only some hats.

Jamstix thinks in a 16th grid, even with resolution 96, because a drummer thinks of 32nd as doubled hits. You can't just place 32nds anywhere on the timeline and have the 'human drummer' in Jamstix be able to play it.
So, think in 16th terms and then double the tick number for 96. Add 32nds as notes following a normal 48 resolution+3.
Sorry this is so complicated but this is not a user function, as you know. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok, Ralph. Anyway the snares in the fill played, if I want them like this I can add a ´SilenceUntil´.
Thanks a lot. |
