I have been waiting for this new product for a long time, but I am not sure if it is still in development?
Since I first learned about Rayzoon, around 2005, I have bought all Rayzoon's products and will continue to support Rayzoon way off into the future.
But I feel a little worried that Toontrack is bringing out EZbass on May 19th. Rayzoon was way ahead when Jambassist was first announced, and now I feel like the competition are stealing Ralph's idea.
I hope that Rayzoon will come back with a better product than Toontrack could ever design. What we need is a proper virtual bassist, not a bassist that plays from MIDI files.
Hopefully, Ralph has something up his sleeve and Toontrack will have a fight on its hands for the virtual bass market. |

Appreciate your kind words but there is currently no timeline for JamBassist development. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I would rather see you put all efforts into Jamstix but I've thought about it a bit lately and decided that even a very simple JamBassist would be very attractive to a wide audience. If it could be fed the song sections like Jamstix but with a key and the Nashville type chord directions added and just play roots and fifths with some simple fills and chromatic transistions people would use it.
Perhaps introduce it as JamBassist Lite with intro price goes toward eventual JamBassist XL purchase later. |

Toontrack just released EZBass, and it works really well with EZKeys and Jamstix. I made a quick jam test the other night with it https://hearthis.at/sonicviz/nocountryforboldmen/
It was a long wait for EZBass, but like Jamstix was worth the wait. It's very deep, lots of features. It would be hard to best it imo, without a serious team behind it. Jamstix, meanwhile, still holds its own against the top drum VSTi's.
If Jambassist has some unique bassline/fill/improv generation capability it may go up against uJam Bass and EzBass, but that isn't easy to do which is why uJam/EZBass take a hybrid approach. They're not just midi players btw, they bother offer some unique features to generate unique bass interaction.
On Jamstix, are there any skins available? |

at this point it seems jambassist is probably not going to happen, but I would much rather ralph concentrate on jamstix anyway. It could still go in a lot of good places and I want to see it develop further.
It's an amazing product and I'm sure ralph would do a great job of jambassist but unless he gets a team going, I don't know.
Up to him of course and I will literally buy anything he puts out. |
