Hi Ralf,

I think there could be a problem running the jamstix manager with the last update inside daw. I lost all my kits during installations of last update this way. Then I tried the "repair" function, dont help, got an error message. Then I opened the jamstix manager outside daw while daw was closed, now evrything is fine again. I assume some rights problems while inside daw, maybe it is a good tip to prefer running jamstix manager outside daw ?

We are readying manager 1.1.0, which will alert you to close the DAW when launched from it. It also has various fixes and enhancements. Should be out in just a bit.

i saw the same thing and i see that Ralph is on it. But all you did was simply open the JS Manager outside of the DAW and that got you running again?

i did the same thing but that didn't do it for me so i did a repair on just JS (the top choice in the Manager) and that got me running again.

Brian

Thanks
Brian

A new Jamstix manager and Jamstix 4 (full) are now out with these changes:

  • fixed issue with Jamstix not seeing the correct data folder after changing settings in the manager, leading to 'red kits' (no sound file found)
  • increased GUI scaling range to 200%

  • MANAGER: data folder is now freely selectable
  • MANAGER: fixed issue with AAX errors when AAX folder requires elevated privileges
  • MANAGER: folder selections are now validated for syntax or access rights issues
  • MANAGER: added 'Jamstix Options' page with options to solve DAW load crashing and GUI cutoff isues for some users
  • MANAGER: added prompt to have user close DAW prior to installing/updating when manager is launched from Jamstix
  • MANAGER: fixed Pak isses when upgrading from free to full version
  • MANAGER: fixed incorrect audioM8 version being installed
  • MANAGER: added Microsoft VC runtime install if needed

Hi Ralph,

I just tried the latest Manager on my Win 7 computer and the Access Violation still occurs upon loading. Sent you an email with the logs.

Congratulations Ralph and all at Rayzoon with this release. Good things come to those who wait. Very Happy

Up and running here with the full version of JS4 (update from JS3). I spotted in Reaper that the 64bit dll was not recognised. I renamed the 32bit dll jamstix4x32.dll and Reaper was then able to recognise both. All good. Very Happy

Any concrete plans for the "from time to time" adding of new drums/styles/players you already mentioned ?

Background: I had just speculated on some expansions/mini packs being in the year end sale, but now while they are not in the sale I am thinking about saving money for new jamstix 4 things to come.

First order of business is 3 new drummers for JS4, which will be free of charge since they should have been included from the beginning. After that, we're aiming for 1 MiniPak a month ($9) until the macOS version is done at which point expansion production will accelerate.

Long time user since JS1 here – thanks for version 4, which is simply the best Smile
I actually tried some styles and drummers to drive a Taiko Ensemble in Kontakt for a modern orchestral score and it works quite well. So maybe it's an idea for future styles and drummer that are more specialized in that genre. It takes some tweaking now but it works very nicely for me. Thanks again!

You know, we thought the same thing during testing, driving a Kontakt library (Action Strikes). There's a MiniPak waiting to happen for sure.

Greetings Ralph,

Just a detail on the Store. At least on the Mini Paks section, the PDF Manual Links are going to 404. Smile

Thanks! Have a great week.

They work for me. Can you send me a link that does not work for you?
