|
|
Hello.
When trying to install the files i recieve on Jamstix 3.6.1 with the Rayzoon PAK Installer, it throws the following error: "Installation Error: Cannot create file "C:\Program Files\jamstix3\data\sounds\ .....". No access. Please contact Rayzoon support for help"?
This leads my to a second question: How do I select another location for the sample contant? I'd prefer not to store it on my system drive.
Thanks in advance
Jacob
EDIT: I should have read this first http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4950
I'll follow these steps - they probably work.
But I don't quite understand how to 'set the permissions on the Jamstix3 folder to read/write Everyone' using explorer in Windows 7?
Clicking Properties on the Jamstix 3 folder I suppose I should go to the security tab? If so, I'm confused with reg to which group to choose. Also, I can't seem to find somewhere to set read/write to 'Everyone'? |

Right click Jamstix 3 folder>Properties>Security Tab> Is EVERYONE listed under Group or user names? If it is:
Click EVERYONE to highlight>Edit button>Check "Full Control" Allow under Permissions for EVERYONE.
If EVERYONE isn't listed in Group or user names:
Click Add>In the "Enter the object names to select (examples)" window type EVERYONE and click "Check Names" button. This will properly format the name for you. Click OK Check "Full Control" Allow under Permissions for EVERYONE. Click Apply Click OK. |

Thank you very, very much! That did the trick. Wonderful! I would never have thought of that myself.
As for the library location:
I tried moving the data folder (as mentioned in the FAQ - 4th post: http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4950), but after doing so Jamstix opens with lots of missing parts in the GUI and does not ask for the new library location. I also tried just moving the kit folder, but that didn't work either.
I wonder if it's still possible to move the library to another drive in Jamstix 3.6.1? If it is, then how? |

| Move the whole Jamstix 3 folder to the new location and then you have to edit "C:\Users\%user name%\Documents\Jamstix3\sllink.txt" to point to the new location. I have my samples on a separate drive so I know this is needed. |

I don't know what I'd have done without your help. You're a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you.
In case a mod reads this: It might be an idea to update the JS3 FAQ with this info I think. |
