Using the wizard overrides the whole performance.
I'd do this:
- set host to 6/4
- load Jamstix
- create desired groove in bar editor
- click "Save Style" in the bar menu
- open wizard and select saved style (and everything else as desired) _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok, now that I've created a basic style, I'd like to tweak the groove, accent and fill, and run the wizard to create a song using those settings, but I'm not sure how to do this. I'm not sure if my settings are being applied and I'm not sure how to adjust the settings without having them revert back to previous or default settings. Thanks

Did you hand-edit the groove in the bar editor or just tweaked brain settings? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I did what you instructed below.

Yes, simply select your saved style in the song wizard. This will only affect the groove created. Accents and fills are generated dynamically on top. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

When I save the style, does it save all the groove, accent and fill settings?

It saves whatever notes you programmed in the bar editor.
If you want to save groove, accent and fill brain settings, use 'Save A Style Preset' in the brain editor. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I saved the settings as a style preset and ran the wizard specifying the style preset but the settings changed.

Can you tell me a specific setting that changed? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Skipped Kicks
Ride Bell
Late Kicks
Length - T-Fill
Length - R-Fill
Focus - Snare
Focus - Toms
Toms Range
It appears that the settings go back to default, even though I specified the style preset in the wizard. |

These sound like drummer settings, please also save the drummer preset with your desired choices and then load both, style and drummer preset in the song builder. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Maybe it wasn't the intent, but this thread is really helpful in a sort of "Getting into the details of JS" way.
Thank you Ralph for your time in answering the thread - it answered a lot of my questions too! _________________ Alexis

I like the software a lot, but this is the most confusing part, (how the style and player presets work with the Wizard). I still can't get my custom settings to stay the same after running the Wizard, however, I can recall saved presets for individual parts after the song is built. A tutorial or video would be helpful.
