Maybe a drummer can shed some lights on rudiments for dummies? I don't understand rudiments from the manual alone...

They make my brain hurt usually, I'm not a drummer. IMO loading up the Carmine model and playing around with it is the easiest way to see that. If you are asking what effect it has on the brain technically, Ralph would have to answer that one.
