|
|
Discovered a problem on my set up when using Jamstix in C6.
Load up Jamstix with the Standard kit and no matter what the pan settings are for any kit element everything just sounds in the left channel.
It works fine in Cubase 5 and FL Studio.
Not sure if its a setting somewherein Cubase or Jamstix Ive messed up. If someone has C6 and JS3 if they could test it see if it works properly on their system and let me know I would be grateful.
edit: It worse than that..no matter what output is set for each kit element it still send the sounds to output 2 and only to the left channel
Thanks

Hi Ian
Well, I found similar in that same situation. I've not looked into the problem, all I do is change the snare from 2 to 1 output, and all seems acceptable (but not nesessary right)
Ralph will perhaps chime in with the reason why this is the case.

Thanks for confirming its not just me.
I have the options set to 8 stereo outputs and when downmix is activated, the only output that is stereo is 1, 2 to 8 are mono on the left channel. |

It sounds like something is incorrectly set-up on the audio tracks for Jamstix in Cubase. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph
As Studio64 said if you modify all the kit elements to use output 1 it is fine.
If you use all 8 outputs and down mix to output 1 it goes screwy on outputs 2 - 8 as they only sends left channel information to output 1.
I could be wrong as Im no expert but that to me looks more like a problem in the Jamstix mixer when in Cubase 6 |

Hi
when you think about it, if it is OK in Cubase 5, but not Cubase 6, it must be something changed in C6.
I will investigate

Agree completely. I cannot see any settings in C6 which would cause the problem, just add an instrument track with Jamstix and away you go.
Must be a nightmare for developers trying to keep everything working in hosts that move the goal posts all the time.

Hi Ian
I have just had a quick play with JS3 in C6.
Snare is left only on default settings.
If I activate all JS3 outputs from the VST instrument rack panel, JS3 plays as expected ie snare sounds middle, although none of the newly activated outputs are being used.
Summing up, still baffled. _________________ john-studio64

Ressurecting this ancient thread. I had given up on resolving this problem I had. Thought it was a longshot but updated to 3.5 see if it made any difference.
The boys only gone and fixed it, dont know what you did Ralph but its all working fine now. |

Glad it's fixed!
Jamstix 3.5 is a major rewrite of the host interface so that explains why this got fixed 'accidentally'. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
