I'm having the same problem too using Jamstix inside Sonar Producer 8.5.3 64-bit. When I attempt to load a plug-in in the Kit tab I get this error:

Access violation of address 7738F746 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address 61788018.

I can load Jamstix just fine into my synth-rack and it will operate fine with stock sounds. But when I try to load the .dll for Ezdrummer I get the above error and I have to use the task manager to close Jamstix after it freezes.

When I use Jamstix as a standalone using Savihost I am able to load the .dll for Ezdrummer and it works fine.

Any ideas?

Sorry to bring this topic back from the dead, but I am having a similar problem. Whenever I try to drag and drop the parts, or whole song to my host I get the "Access violation at address 774BE663 in module 'ntdll.dll' Read of address 00000024" error. (Sonar X1 64bit)

I'm using the JS3 demo, and it happens every single time. I was hoping to export the Jamstix sessions to midi so I could use SSD. If this can be done, I'm a definite buyer.

Well I still get the error when I try to drag and drop, but I finally got it capable of 'recording' to midi. Turns out I am an idiot, and never clicked the option to "Enable Midi Output" for Jamstix in the synth rack.

jP: Subhosting within Jamstix under a 64-bit host usually does not work. Please load EZDrummer into Sonar and drive it via a MIDI track in Sonar with input=Jamstix and output=EZDrummer.

Just tried to install AIpack on Sonar 8.5.3 win 7 64 bit and got the same access violation. Also updated my version of JS3 to the most recent. Got the same access violation error. I remember something about SAVIhost. Will try to find the instructions.

munmun: please try running Sonar as admin and see if it helps. Otherwise, use SAVIHost to install.

Btw, I also noticed in the log that your Sonar latency is very high.

I managed using SAVIHost.

Now you mention that my latency is high in Sonar. I will chack what I need to do that to fix it. Might explain frequent crashes.

Go to audio options in Sonar and check that the proper ASIO driver is selected and then set a lower latency in the driver control panel offered.

Ralph. By ASIO driver do you mean the latest driver for my M audio 2496 soundcard or is this something separate? Sorry a little ignorant.

It's the driver selected in the Options->Audio dialog of Sonar under 'Playback Timing Master'. That same page also has the buffer size adjustment for latency.

Ralph. I am very puzzled. I know that there is a problem with my system because of frequent hanging and freezing. Yet when I run DPC latency checker I detect no latency issues. Also I have maudio native 64bit drivers so no issues there. Any thoughts? I am unsure why the log file says I have latency yet I cannot detect it.

DPC latency has nothing to do with ASIO latency.

The audio dialog of Sonar should give you a ASIO latency control at the bottom. If you don't see that, please email me a screenshot.

Concerning m-audio driver: I recommend you try the latest ASIO4ALL driver for reference and see if it fixes your issues.

Ralph. This is the status I posted on the Cakewalk site last night. I am still stuck. Any thoughts you have would be really appreciated:

"I am working on a song that includes soft synths (BFD and VSL). The problem is that when I start to play the song, the transport line gets stuck while the song continues to play and the stop button no longer responds. It has become impossible to work in this song. I disabled the synths but still have the same issue. My specs are:

Sonar 8.5.3
INtel Quad core i7 processor 2.67Ghz, 6GB RAM, 64 bit windows 7, soundcard Maudio 2496 with latest 64 bit driver

I have tried the Maudio 64bit ASIO driver, ASIO4ALL, and wdm/KS with no improvement. Also within these drivers I have pklayed with buffer size. Anything below 256 creates crackles. Settings higher than 512 tend to create drop outs. I updated graphics card driver last night"

Are you saying you can create this issue with no plugins in the project at all?
