Hi Ralph,
I found a user interface bug with the red crosses through the hits in the bar editor:
When I choose a style and a drummer (to keep it simple letīs say 8th Rock and Charlie) and press start, all the hits in the bar editor -except the kick and the hihat on the first beat- get a red cross and when I point on them it reads "... trandsition time from...", but I can hear all the hits (I have turned down the controls for the accents, so no hits there and also nothing in the fill-tab as no bar is marked as a fill).
When I then click on the blue arrow to preview the current bar, all the red crosses disappear, but reappear when the preview is stopped and the host is started again.

What is the power knob position?
Also, please go to the Options and click defaults for the limb speeds.

Power knob is at 79% (seems to be the default value when inserting Jamstix) and Iīve done a reset of the limb speed values, but nothing changes. I tried other styles, other drummers, different power knob settings and speeds, added accents and fills, but nearly every hit gets a red cross. Tried it mostly in Ableton Live, but Cubase seems to be the same (latest versions of both). The mode used was `Normal jam`.
I changed other parameters and encountered other and more serious problems: changing the time signature in the host leads to very strange behaviour. There are big gaps in the playback and after approx. 4 bars Jamstix almost stops completely to output sound (but the red crosses are gone then).
Did a second test: new project, time signature 6/4, made a new midi track and inserted Jamstix picked R&B Funk and Neil and the standard Funk Kit, pressed play. I hear 4 quarters of groove generated, a few hits in the second bar and thatīs it, the rest is silence!
By the way: allow time signature changes is checked.
There seem to be some serious bugs with time signatures other than 4/4!
I am wondering that this wasnīt reported before. Are you other Jamstix users only use 4/4? It can not only be me?! |

Hi,
Im new to this forum and Jamstix.
I was looking to buy this product, so have downloaded the demo and followed the tutorial, but i get the crosses as mentioned by previous posts.
I would like this issue cleared up before I buy the full version.
Im using cubase 5 studio on win Xp sp3.

The problem only occurs when the host is in loop mode. 3.1 Beta 5 fixes this.
