Hi

Ive had to do a reinstall on my PC . Jamstix has gone OK apart from the metalpak which reports 1 sound missing..its the drum stick. Any idea what I need to do to get it back. Tried re installing the metal pak a couple of times.

Thanks

Ian

Sounds like you forgot to install the JS2 kits, which MP uses the drumsticks from.

Hi Ralph

Well i didn't install JS2 stock kit at first, didn`t think I need to as Im using JS3. I did eventually install JS2 kit see if it filled in the missing bits. Before I did that I had loads of sounds missing. After I installed the JS2 kit I still had the drumsticks missing.

edit: Just reinstalled JS2 stock kit again and it still says 1 sound missing, click on the drumstick pic and get no sound. Noticed that if I right clicked on the pic of the drumsticks and select one of the sounds then its available and you can then hear it, although it still says 1 sound missing.

That will become a bit of a pain if I have to remember to do that every time I load a kit up.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. Installing JS2 stock kit resolves all missing sounds except the Drumsticks in the Classic Metal Kit.

Any ideas anyone?

Oh well at least Im not alone in this, I was thinking I must have messed up the install somewhere.

So when you right click on the drumsticks does it show two available sounds both of them prefixed with JS3? Im guessing we should see one prefixed with JS2 as well.

Yeah, the same for me. I wonder if it's related to installing the JS2 kit after the JS3 (and other packs).

Another thing that was strange, After I installed JS3 and it's standard kit I tried the JS2 Migration tool but it said it couldn't find JS2 installed on my system. At the time, I definitely had JS 2.1 installed and it was (and still is) available in my host software (SONAR). SO, I had to reinstall the XL, Metal and Bonzo expansions into JS3.

I recommend opening each MetalPak kit and setting drumsticks to the JS3 drumstick sound, which is better than the original sound anyway. Save each kit and you're done.
