Ralph (and/or any and all PT 8 users), this is probably a very dumb question, but does PT8 support multiple VSTi plugin outputs? I want to run Jamstix 3 out into Pro Tools via individual tracks (one track just the kick, one track just the snare, etc., where I can equalize, compress, etc. with the various software plugins I have in my host), but haven't been able to figure out how to do so just yet. In the Jamstix 3 manual, on page 60, under "Audio Outputs," it says: "..Changes require a restart of Jamstix and your host must be able to handle multiple VSTi plugin outputs." Is this something Pro Tools can do?
Thank you in advance for your time and help .
And thanks again Ralph for this incredible product. Version 3 is an absolute masterpiece (to look at, to listen to, and to use). |

Okay, I figured out what I was doing wrong. The answer to my question is 'yes.' I stumbled across this video, and was able to apply the concept easily to Jamstix 3. Here's the video in case anyone else might benefit from watching it: http://www.homestudiocorner.com/2009/10/01/recording-multiple-outputs-from-ezdrummer-video/
I was record-arming the individual track outs, but I think it was because I wasn't record-arming the host itself (and then having PT go into active record mode) was the reason that I wasn't hearing any audio being outputted to those individual tracks (and thus was left wondering if PT did or did not support the multiple VSTi plugin outputs). Works like a charm now . |
