|
|
Have installed JS3 and all kits previously purchased, including Jamcussion, licence codes entered as required.
Going to Kit window, Load>Jamcussion>(any available set), sounds "appear" to load (i.e quickly listed on lower part of window) but no visual representation of any instruments appears and no sounds can be heard.
Having carried out a variety of checks, comparing kits which would load and be available with all the Jamcussion sets, clicking on the "Not Loaded" drop-down menu gives an option to "Show Key Map". First two entries of this for Jamcussion kits are:
DRUMS: Not loaded
PERC: Empty kit.
All other kits have entries under either or both of these headings. e.g. "Bonzo Pak - Dry" shows:
DRUMS: Bonzo Pak - Dry
PERC: Not loaded.
Does this give a clue why no Jamcussion sounds will load or be available for use?
All advice very gratefully received!

Did you switch to Jamcussion mode with the big blue button before loading a Jamcussion kit? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph! |

Thanks Ralph! | It wasn't obvious to me, but I'm glad I checked the forum for this problem before I started complaining |

| OK, sorted. Jamcussion didn't automatically make the journey from Jamstix 2 as I expected it would. I had to use ' Install Pak ' to install it again. Of course, there is no ' big blue button ' until you've clicked on the ' big grey button ' and entered your Jamcussion licence key. Then there is. |

You can't be expected, Ralph, to anticipate all of the mental aberrations of seat-of the-pants users like me. No apologies necessary. |

Thanks Ralph! | It wasn't obvious to me, but I'm glad I checked the forum for this problem before I started complaining | I don't know what's happened, but I'm getting the no sound/no kit loaded issue again and there's definitely no *big blue button* to switch to Jamcussion mode that I can see, nor was I asked to enter my Jamcussion license key. Can somebody explain exactly where this mysterious *big blue button* is?
I was happily using J2 (since uninstalled) along with the Jamcussion, Bonzo and Metal paks with no problems and the latter two kits are working but not Jamcussion in J3. I used the J3 migration tool but still no go with Jamcussion even tho' it showed as found and installed and have installed all paks again since removing J2. |

If you look at page 10 of the JS3 manual there is a screenshot. In the top left hand corner (section 7) is a button highlighted blue. That's the Jamstix button. If you click on the similar shaped button to the right of it, that will go blue, and you will be in Jamcussion.
So that should answer your question about the blue buttons - but not the failure to install/migrate Jamcussion, which will require a more expert opinion. |

I'd assumed that was the button in question, but clicking it has no effect here, mainly I suspect because of the *kit not loaded* issue.
I'm due for a clean OS reinstallation so will most likely do that soon and start from scratch with Jamstix.

Ian | That's a clean XP installation done...............now all I have to do is install hardware drivers and oooooodles of software, hopefully Jamstix will be trouble free once reinstalled.
