|
|
Hi - I've downloaded the demo, and am looking to jam with a MIDI piano part. It was created without a click, with some speeding up and slowing down occurring at various parts of the song.
I notice that Jamstix is jamming with the tempo listed in the the transport panel, not the actual tempo of the piano piece as played.
Is there a control in Jamstix to point it to the piano piece for its tempo cue (i.e., not just take it from the transport panel), or do I need to render the MIDI track to audio to do that?
Thanks! _________________ Alexis

Jamstix always jams in synch with the host sequencer. This has various reasons, including the fact that real-time timing extraction from MIDI data is at best unreliable. It's even worse for audio.
You won't see any product doing this for the next 5 or 6 years.
You can experiment with offline-timing extractors to build a tempo track in your sequencer, which Jamstix will then follow. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

No problem, I'll do that. It was on my list of things to learn in SX3 anyway, no time like the present!
Thanks much
P.S. Your response time to technical queries is astounding, Zauni! _________________ Alexis
