Folks,
I just want to create a basic beat to follow along on a guitar track someone sent me. Unfortunately, the beat on the guitar is less than rock-solid.
If I pick the BPM of say 102, then jamstix will "synch" for a while, but then as the guitar slacks on the beat, the drums quickly go out of synch.
Can someone explain in basic terms how to synch the TEMPO to the recorded guitar track? I have the demo version and I want to make sure it can do this sort of stuff before I actually purchase it. From what I've read, I'm certain it can, I just haven't found out HOW to do this.
Thanks! |

| Jamstix is locked to the host tempo. That's a limitation of the VST format, not Jamstix itself. Some hosts (such as Sonar) can figure out the changes in tempo of a recorded track, and map the host's tempo to that, and then Jamstix would follow that. Some hosts can also quantize a recorded track so that it stays in time. However these are host-specific fixes, and not anything that can be rectified in Jamstix itself. The best solution would be to record the guitar track with a metronome or with a host following the beat laid down by Jamstix, so that it's in sync with no tempo wrangling required. |

| Thanks for the info -- I'll have to see how to work on the tempo maps in my DAW for this! |
