I'm thinking about picking up Jamstix 2 XL/Metal during the sale and want to know a more about its midi export capability. I use Logic on a Mac as my primary DAW, but do have a PC that I run a couple of VSTi's on and could run Jamstix on.

My thought is that I would bring a couple of audio tracks from a song over to the PC to work out the drums with Jamstix, then export the midi from Jamstix to bring back into Logic and use with BFD (soon to be BFD2).

Is it a simple task to export midi from a finished Jamstix song? Is anyone else using it this way?

Michael

I use JamStix this way with WinXP in BootCamp on my MacBook Pro. I've done several tunes and exported the MIDI files to use in OS X with Logic. I use Toontrack's Custom and Vintage rather than BFD but that's about the only difference between what you describe and what I did. It is very simple and works very well.
