I've written 2 4/4 bars and one 5/4 bar. So, with time sig changes allowed and the proper meter changes setup in Sonar, I can play the bars in 4-5-4 order (for 13/4). The problem is that I can't loop the 5/4 bar in 5/4 time. When I stop the host and click the loop button in JS2, there are no horiziontal red bars in the 5th beat on the bar editor. JS2 always cuts the bar down to 4/4. It makes it impossible to tailor the bar. The only way I can hear changes is if I play the whole song.

Any ideas?

Dave

Just to add, I've added a 4/4 bar after the 5/4 bar and started looping it to create another bar. JS2 will only loop 2 bars of the 4. But if I play the song, it will play all 4 bars.

If however, I remove any time sig changes, I can loop the 4/4 bar OK. I didn't try this with the 5/4 bar.

Time sig changes in JS2 require that a part has ony one time sig and that it be set in the part options (length, rep).

That's exactly how I have it set. I have 4 parts of 1 bar/1 rep each. Bar 3 is the only one in 5/4. I have the corresponding meter changes set in the host. Playing the song works fine. However, looping the 5/4 bar only plays 4 beats and looping the 4/4 bar right after it only plays 3 beats.

Just to follow up on this for anyone who might be experiencing the same thing:

Ralph is still looking at this. In my specific case I have a song that starts with 2 bars in 4/4, one in 5/4, 2 in 4/4, one in 5/4 then all 4/4. Playing the song works fine. Of course I have all the meter changes setup in Sonar and "Allow Time Sig Changes" enabled in JS2. The problem occurs when I stop the host and select a 5/4 bar and try to loop it in JS2 so I can tweak it. JS2 cuts off the last beat in bar. Also, the very next bar (in 4/4) doesn't loop correctly either. The cursor goes from beat 1 to 2 and then comes back to 1 and finishes on beat 3, never getting to beat 4.

I've tried setting up other projects with different meter changes and it behaves consistently in every case.

I can work around it by playing the song and the stopping to make a change in a 5/4 bar and then starting the song over. But that's inconvenient.

Anyway, right now, it's the only issue I'm having with JS2. It's a problem for me because alot of what I write has meter changes in it.

We just released Jamstix 2.1, which fixes this problem.
