Hi Folks,

My needs are for a device to capture my live drummer's performance and convert it to MIDI file so that I can process his kit with softwares.

Mics are not an affordable plan so I'd rather use 'triggers' or whatever other kind of new tech is available.

Can Rayzoon technologies give me this product???

So far all I see is an Alesis DM5 where triggers are used.

Thanks.

No, what you need is a Wav-To-MID converter. I think Drumagog does that IIRC but am not sure.

Thanks Ralph!

I actually posted this same question to the FXpansion site (since I own BFD softwares) and the answer came back to me to check you out.
Again...thanks!

In a nutshell, Jamstix is a human drummer simulation with a built-in drum sample player, subhosting and arranger. It also has electronic sounds and can be used for electronic grooves as well.

So, if you ever need something like that, here's the place Smile

Ya got me curious... I'll try the trial version for a few days when I get home.
As a guitarist for 40+ years, I've tried to make myself a decent drum machine programmer for my own songwriting purposes... I just couldn't find the time and expertise.

Therefore, I'm going back to real human skin beaters -BUT - their sounds will be software processed.

Thanks.

I suggest you wait a couple days until we release the new demo version, which has a lot of hotfixes. JS2 was just released last Monday and we're in the process of ironing out some bugs.

WAV to midi conversion is notoriously fickle and especially so on polyphonic material (as a drum kit would be). My guess is you'd be spending most of your time sorting out what is supposed to be what and not doing a lot musically.

I would have thought a better approach would be to use either a midi kit (there are some remarkable cheap ones around now) or fit triggers to the existing kit (such as these - http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DDRS/ ). Record into your sequencer of choice and then you can play around with the sounds to your hearts content.
