Hi,Guy

Well i am kind of in a bind here as to what is wrong.I am using Reaper and Jamstix as a VST Plug-in.All seem to load fine and it looks like it is working fine.So i then load 16th rock with the intro on the second bar of the arrangement ,but all i get is one hit on the srane for the intro i set. I got nothing for the next 16th rock bars i set.The next sound i hear was another snare hit on a fill of the 16th bar.I know i must be doing something minorly wrong.I just can get it .Please help.Thanks

I´ll give you a little tutorial of this:

1. Select KEYWORD JAM
2. Select 16th Rock.
3. Go to the arrangement tab. There are 3 rhythms laid out for this keyword.
4. You want the Intro to start at bar no. 2, so you check the mute funtion and mute bar no.1
5. In START BAR (down below) select "2", as this is the bar where you want your song to begin.
6. Check the select function again and right-click on bar 2. Select a proper intro.
7. Play a bit through your arrangement now and see the decisions Jamstix makes and the accents it plays for certain bars. Once you are satisfied with certain bars, lock them. When you are satisfied with your arrangement in general, click "use arrangement" down left and go to MANUAL JAM.

Now Jamstix will use the finished and tweaked arrangement and will not make any changes/accents to it unless you manually rearrange rhythms.

I still can,t get this working right.I am pretty good at setting it up as it is a very easy and great program.Let me give you a little more info Doc.I have the Jamstix program running on two different computers and i am running them with the Reaper Recording progam. It seems that i am able to get it to work great in my desk top.(Dell dimension8200,winXP,pent4,1GB Memory,Emu1820m soundcard).It works great with this one i get level reading from the main mix.I also am getting a reading from the track level metor.Again i works great with this set up.Now for my other set up (driving me mad).I try and set up on other system.It is a Dell Laptop inspironE1505.I have winXP ME addtion intel centrino Duo,1GB memory.I have disabled and uninstalled the old soundcard software that is on the hard driver,but i have not removed the old soundcard hardware that came with the computer.but it is disabled.I have reinstalled my new soundcard M-Audio Mobile-Pre USB.With that said(I have set all input on output for new soundcard).The sound card works with the demo song that came with reaper. I am not able to get any sound with a new project. One Track with VST Jamstix installed on the 1track.I have know input or output level reading coming in or out anywere.It like there is no signal.If i can give you anymore info just ask.Thanks Doc

That sounds more like a problem with your mobile soundcard. Do you get any input signal at all? Microphone?
I assume you have selected the right soundcard drivers in Reaper? What about your soundcard in the device manager? Any problems/conflicts? Is there maybe a driver update from M-Audio?

well i am going to try and reinstall all the drivers and programs and look for up dates all the way around.I checked the XLR mike input for the M-Audio soundcard.I set up a new project.I plugged in my shure57.I then armed the track and recorded my vocals.It was there,but it was very low.I just thought that i should throw that out there as it might help give you a few more ideas.Thanks for the help all.So I now know that i can record the XLR mike inputs.I have also tryed my Ampletube2 VST on a singel track project in reaper with the M-Audio soundcard and Reaper and this vst worked great.I am still stumped as to Jamstix.

Well to this moment i have not figured out what it is that i was doing wrong,But i press enough buttons enough times and finally got it to work.i have been trying to fix this little bug for two todays now.It bugs the heck out of me as i could have been making music with that time.So with that said i saved the project and will hope that will be the end of it and all will be working fine for here on in.I realy needed to have this fixed as i work between the two of them.Its a real great bonus for me to have the portable laptop to take on the road for work.Thanks again Doc and all.
