I am using the demo version awaiting the end of the group buy. Host is Sonar 6. Sometimes in jam mode jamstix stops seeing the midi input. Yellow light stops indicating incoming midi, velocity changes don't register. If I unload jamstix and reload it, the problem goes away for awhile.

Any hints? Could it be the demo version?

The demo has restrictions. Midi to host and midi export are limited to 4 bars in the demo. Smile

I think Dan is talking about MIDI input, which is not restricted in the demo. Not sure what the problem could be and have never heard of this before. I'll chew on it and see what I can think of. In the meantime please send me the rzdlog.txt file from the demo folder for review.

[quote="Dan on the moon"] Sometimes in jam mode jamstix stops seeing the midi input.

I´m having the same problem,sometimes,..when i switch to free jam mode, theres no activity in the Midi input slider, and also this weird thing,
When i click it into "learn" function Jamstix switchs by itself to Manual mode,...

3 more days to have my own Jamstix! COOL! Razz

THanks!

Saurez, once you have the full version, let's see if any of this remains and, if so, we'll look into it deeper.

I have discovered that when this happens (Jamstix stops seeing the midi input it needs in order to dynamically react to it), I don't need to delete and reload the VST, but only turn it off and back on again in the Sonar Synth Rack, after which I see that Jamstix again detects the incoming midi.

The JS MIDI input indicator lights for me with the EZDrummer Core sounds loaded, but I can't get any MIDI input to JS using my Motif (external) synth.

I've checked the settings several times and tried re-inserting JS, but still no joy. Jam with MIDI is on, the JS output channel is 10. Any ideas? My host is SONAR PE 6.2.1. The JS track output is set to my MIDI interface (MOTU Ultralite).

Thanks!

Let's clarify a bit: you are sending the Jamstix output to the Motif but the problem is the MIDI input to Jamstix? Is that right? Where is the MIDI input coming from?

The MIDI input is going from my Motif into the Ultralite and out to SONAR and echoing back out to the Motif. I have Input Echo On and set to auto for the tracks I'm playing through.

The Jamstix input is set to Ultralite Omni right now. The only other MIDI device I have is a Frontier Tranzport.

Thanks-

-Susan
