I bought JS 2 the second it was released and I'm confused as hell. Is JS2 an UPGRADE to JS1, or a completely new program?

I'm downloading the JS2 now...but have a quick question while I impatiently wait for the download to finish...

We have located a problem that can occur when loading old JS projects into Beta 1819 or later, leading to high CPU usage and crackle/pop artefacts.
The just released Beta 1836 fixes this problem.
