Yup - that's what was happening.

Then I figured it out. Clicking the # of BPM in SaviHost starts and stops Jamstix. That's probably obvious, but it was over my head at the time. Rolling Eyes

There is no lag. Also, if you record your jam and then play it back, Jamstix repeats the jam in MIDI (not audio) so it will always sync.

I might be missing something here, but would it be possible ...
